From Sheafer + King:

Robert William “Halim” Scott

“I never intended to be an abstract painter. I merely wanted to start over again.. This time from the beginning…”

Born in New York City, 1925, Robert William “Halim” Scott attended the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan. After graduating, he went on to work at the J. Walter Advertising Agency but eventually left to volunteer for the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He returned to New York City in 1945 to study at the Art Student’s League, training under the figure painter Robert Brackman. Scott also attended the Heatherley School of Fine Art in England.

After getting married, Scott moved to San Francisco, where he worked at the San Francisco Museum of Art while studying at the California School of Fine Art. He eventually opened his own studio, where he worked on abstract paintings and photography. His work was exhibited at the Kirvan Bartoszewicz Art Gallery in Palm Springs. Throughout his artistic career, his work was included in shows in SoHo.

He died in June of 1997 in Texas.
