From the artist:
I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Sociology , and a Masters of Social Work from Indiana University. After graduation, I spent 2 decades as a Social Worker for IU Medical Center Department of Psychiatry. I also opened a winery in downtown Indianapolis. After the winery closed, I began abstract painting. Where I used to help others deal with their feelings; now I express mine through Art. Art is my third career; or Incarnation!
My work is heavily influenced by my childhood. I am a survivor of physical, and sexual abuse. I am particularly drawn to bright colors and bold patterns, which are often reflected in my pieces, and demonstrate the intense feelings I had in my childhood. Through painting I now see joy where I had never experienced it before; in myself.
I have always appreciated and admired the art of Jackson Pollack and Salvador Dali. In my art, I combine Abstract art with a bit of Surrealism as an expression of myself and my world. You may see joy; when I see heartache. We are just visualizing two shades of the same color.
Good condition.
