1969 limited edition abstract screen print by the Russian artist Andre Lanskoy (1902-1976). Stamped "Les Editions De La Tortue Paris" and signed "La Baule Blanc" in graphite verso. Numbered 99/100 and signed "Lanskoy 69" to the lower left.
Born in Moscow, Lanskoy moved to Paris in 1921 to study at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. During this time he also studied under Sergei Jur'evic Sudejkin. In 1924, Lanskoy exhibited at the Salon d'Automne where he attracted the interest of the German art collector and art dealer Wilhelm Uhde, who was known as one of the earliest collectors of Cubist paintings by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. Also as a result of exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne, Lanskoy signed a contract with Louis Carr, a representative from the Nouvelle Ecole de Paris. In 1925, Lanskoy took part in a group exhibition featuring Russian artists, including Robert Delaunay, Sonia Delaunay, Leopold Survage, and Ossip Zadkine. Starting in the 1940s, Lanskoy changed his painting style and painted only abstracts.
